Steward's Comments: In relation to the gelding settling further back than expected, rider advised that his mount had commenced only fairly and failed to muster early pace and was unable to ride his mount along through the early stages due to the gelding carrying its head very low for a number of strides shortly after the start. As such several other runners had established an advantage and he was obliged to settle back in the field. Momentarily impeded for clear running near the 300m.
