Steward's Comments: As the tongue tie was unable to be fitted, Stewards permitted the mare to race without a tongue tie. Unplaced $2.50 favourite. Rider reported that although his mount slipped on jumping away he was satisfied with the position he obtained during the run, however the mare failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure. Added the mare appeared to pull up in its normal way. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery. Stewards will follow up with the stable.
