Steward's Comments: Rider advised that after commencing well from a wide barrier, he elected to ride the gelding along through the early stages to avoid racing wide which resulted in him working hard through the early stages to settle outside the leader. He further advised the gelding would be more suited racing with cover in future. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainers representative advised the stable will monitor the gelding's recovery and advise stewards of any findings.
