Steward's Comments: Rider reported that in the early stages the gelding did not appreciate Sellente improving to his outside and when being pressured for the lead he elected to take a sit and trail Sellente. He added that the gelding failed to handle today’s track conditions. A post-race vet exam failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Follow up - Didn't handle track conditions however pulled up well and will go for a freshen up before continuing with prep.

Steward's Comments: When questioned re performance, rdr std mnt settled behind the leaders and travelled fiercely in early and middle stages behind a slow tempo. Std he bumped another runner wider at entrance to the straight to present mnt with clear running, however it failed to sprint strongly. Added he was obliged to steady mnt when run closed near the 250m, and it just ground its way to the line from that point, and he believed the manner in which it raced in the early and middle stages was to its detriment sustaining a fi.

Steward's Comments: Prior to correct weight, Stewards viewed the film to ascertain whether the gelding was afforded a fair start. It was established that as the all clear was given, horse raised its near hind leg which resulted in the gelding getting its leg up in its stall, thereby commencing awkwardly and rider becoming unbalanced. As Stewards were of the belief gelding was not impeded by any outside influence, the gelding was declared a runner.
