Steward's Comments: In regard to leading today, Trainer advised the gelding had got further back in the field than anticipated at its prior start at Kalgoorlie on 7 October 2023, whereas today it had commenced well and was able to cross other runners and stride forward to the lead. Trainer further advised that it had raced well when ridden in this manner previously and it will be instructed to it to take a forward position at its future starts.

Steward's Comments: Commenced awkwardly and was then slow to muster pace and lost ground despite being urged along by its rider to maintain contact with the remainder of the field in the early stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer advised the gelding will undergo a full veterinary examination, including blood tests over the ensuing days, the findings of which will then be considered by Stewards. Trainer later advised the gelding was found to have near-side hip soreness for which it recei.
