Steward's Comments: Slow into stride, losing 1L and was then allowed to stride along to worked forward to obtain the lead through the early stages. Rider advised he was instructed to settle back, however, due to no early pace in the race and to avoid racing wide, he was of his opinion his best option was to allow the gelding to stride forward to obtain a more favorable position in running.
