Steward's Comments: When questioned re improved performance, tnr rep stated at its last start the gelding had to work hard from the outside barrier to obtain the lead, however with the genuine early tempo today it was able to obtain a favourable run with cover behind the leaders whereby it was able to settle comfortably, and he believed this to be the main reason for the gelding’s improved performance.

Steward's Comments: Rdr reported from the outside barrier she had to make some use of her mnt to obtain the lead, and after obtaining the lead she was able to set moderate sectionals throughout the middle stages, however once placed under pressure in the straight it was one paced and did not close off the race on the Heavy track. A post-race vet exam revealed no abnormalities.

Well back, flew home, winner pinched break at Royal Randwick. Had a tough task from the start and never a danger beaten at Royal Randwick Prem Prel. Too far back last start. Drawn well. Keep safe here.

He added when the runner in advance of him was not able to keep pace with other runners approaching the home turn, his mnt was left racing too far off the lead and had too much to do in the home straight.
