Steward's Comments: When questioned re improved performance, tnr rep stated at its last start the gelding had to work hard from the outside barrier to obtain the lead, however with the genuine early tempo today it was able to obtain a favourable run with cover behind the leaders whereby it was able to settle comfortably, and he believed this to be the main reason for the gelding’s improved performance.

Steward's Comments: Rdr reported from the outside barrier she had to make some use of her mnt to obtain the lead, and after obtaining the lead she was able to set moderate sectionals throughout the middle stages, however once placed under pressure in the straight it was one paced and did not close off the race on the Heavy track. A post-race vet exam revealed no abnormalities.

Underwent a pre-race vet exam after it hit its offside hip on the outside running rail after leaving the parade ring, and was deemed suitable to race. On jumping was crowded. Rdr reported he was instructed to ride mnt with cover, and in the early stages he attempted to obtain a position with cover but was unable to do so, which left him racing wide and without cover. He said passing the 1600m he allowed his mnt to stride forward to avoid covering additio.
