Steward's Comments: When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, rider stated that from its wide draw his mount was obliged to race three-wide until passing the 1000m when able to work forward to cross and finally obtain a position closer to the rail to settle to the outside of the leader. He added that as a consequence of this early work, his mount was consequently left without a finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality.

She added that the gelding over raced on that occasion and had lost ground, although the instructions given today were no different to the gelding most recent start.
